Self portrait

I never post my portraits and I am a bit camera shy, but I couldn`t pass this play of light and shadows I spotted in my back yard while passing by my bedroom window. My shadow on the window screen projected another shadow inside the room. I had about 3 minutes before the sun set though I managed to get couple of shots and this is one of them. Be my judges :)

I'm still trying to figure out how this shot was taken...

If you were taking your shadow then what is that small image from a view finder coming from? Another camera? All taken by your D80?

@Ti: It was taken all in one shot. As I said I had only about 3-5 min. to take this. When the sun was really low it casted the shadow on my window screen, and (as I understand it) from the window screen it through the small shadow inside the room. I was out and while passing by the window I saw too shadows of myself. I ran inside, grabbed my camera and took few exposures. This is was the first time I`ve seen this effect. And I took advantage of it.

Now I get it! The large one is on the window screen and the small one is on the wall inside the room, which I thought was a screen of a camera! Duh...

Now you know the timing maybe you can replicate more in the future. :-)

@Ti: Tried, but the sun is at the different angle now, doesn`t work anymore. Not until the next year, I guess.

Clever use of those fleeting moments before the Sun's departure marks the end of a day, which I hope you enjoyed.

Photography can become an effective means of teaching us to not only look for, but really learn to notice and appreciate things we pretty much ignored to took for granted in the past. Beautiful image, Nataly.

not unlike my friend Ti, I got totally confused by your explanation of how you shot this, but I must say "how" is secondary to me. You could've skipped this part altogether, it doesn't matter. What matters is the spellbinding qualities of the image, as a final result.
