@bluechameleon: Thank you, Sharon! I like this one very much as well. Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaExtremely mysterious and unknown. An apt title and beautiful image. 2 Dec 2008 5:35am @Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoDoes illustrate the theme of your title, even without reading it. This is what makes photography fun: being able to catch that moment at a whim. I wonder if the thought you convey through it now was what you saw when you captured it. 2 Dec 2008 5:00pm @Luis A. De Jesus R.: To unveil the mystery this is a shark aquarium. To be honest with you I am not sure what I saw through the viewfinder . It was very dark there and I couldn`t see much. But lately no matter what I shoot it comes out looking something like this image. I recently met a very talented photographer who told me that your style is in you and thats when it is unique. Just try to shoot the way you feel from the deep inside within yourself. And I think I finally let my camera to take control of my technical worries. When I look at my recent images I can really feel and relate to them. And for the first time it is not significant how these images are being accepted by the viewers. I can`t expect people to see and feel the way I do. But it makes me very pleased when someone does understand. I have been experimenting with styles and looks for a while now and all of a sudden it feels like I am coming home. Thank you, Luis. Mike Broadway from Austin, United StatesIt is very hard not to make or post photographs with your audience in mind, but you can't find and stay with your own muse if you let other people's opinions influence when you push the button. Congratulations, you are coming home :-) 3 Dec 2008 2:55am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesA sea of slime and phantoms flying- this should be your Halloween shot! I don't know where you shot this and under what environment, I think making a typical scene into something completely else- like into this scary sea of slim :) - is the most fun part about photography. 3 Dec 2008 6:16pm @Howard F.: Thanks, Howard for your very encouraging words. It is interesting that personal usually is not popular and popular is not usually personal. What is it to be? Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomIt's really great to see that you are finding your own style and way of photographing. That's part of the value of going through all that experimenting that you did.....it's being able to find that something that finally clicks within you as feeling right. I felt exactly the same when I saw the results of my first true long exposure B&W photos....it was just like coming home. 5 Dec 2008 3:06pm @Ian Bramham: Thank you, Ian. I do feel good about my results nowdays. Many of them I don`t show since they just wouldn`t look good on A3 or simply wouldn`t fit. But this is today. I don`t think I ever will shoot in the same manner. My life is very active and full of events. Especially with the growing son who changes all the world around me. Who makes me see and think and feel differently all the time. There is certainly a signature in all my photos that may be I am the only one who can see it, but I know that some time sown the road some different look would feel right. One thing I`ve changed is that I don`t just snap around all the time. I shoot when I really see or feel something. I then I take a bit more time then I used to. So we`ll see what`s coming next. |
