Joshua Tree Park 3

The rock formations are so amazing in this part of the desert. They began their formation underground eons ago as a result of the volcanic activity. As they rose form deep within the Earth, they intruded the overlying rocks and continued to uplift. Then got polished by the underground waters and later in time as the surface soil eroded, they ended up looking like piles of toy blocks.
