Joshua Tree Park 2

This is an Ocotillo . This plant is typical for the Colorado desert which makes about a half of the Park.

Just beautiful. Ocotillos are amazing plants (even more amazing in this shot). They have deep roots. So if you're stranded in desert and see ocotillos, you can probably find water beneath it.

@Howard F.: what is relly amazing in the park is that As you drive along, the scenery changes. First there is a field of Joshua trees, then, only ocotilos, then some other plants and as you get into the Colorado desert it gets very dry and flat. In few hours you cross several different worlds...
