Hoàng Sơn from Santa Ana, United StatesVery interesting lightning. But I think the skin tone is a bit too "blue". Unless it's your emphasis, if it is then i guess it's not my taste :) (doesn't mean it bad though, it's just not for me). I think this photo would make a wonderful duo/tri-tone. You really captured the emotion . Great work . 7 Mar 2008 4:41pm @Hoàng Sơn: Thank you for your comment!.. It is so helpful to hear other people`s opinion and critique. It is the only way to learn and improve Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomWell first of all the improvement over your compact camera is very obvious and also I would guess you're trying new types of photography which is brilliant. This photo is excellent ...... I love what you've done with the light & it's very strong on atmosphere! 7 Mar 2008 4:59pm @Ian Bramham: Thank you very much, Ian. Yes, I am playing with the new camera and for the first time used a raw format... What a difference!!!!! And of corse I am trying to see what this camera can do,..I guess a lot.... You will probably see from now on a lot of different styles and technics I will try... Which will, I hope, bring me to my own... I am going to take some classes and that would help to speed up the process Barbara from Florida, United StatesExcellent capture. I love the expression (and wondering what the child is thinking) I like the shadows and light hitting on the eye. Actually some adjustment on color could be made but I liked it so much I did not think that way until reading others comments. Still it is a memorable image. Shooting in raw!! I give you credit. I bought a newer camera and have not experimented with that yet. Best of luck you are doing fine. 7 Mar 2008 5:53pm @Barbara: Thank you, Barbara. Your words are very encouraging. RAW turns out to be a lot of fun since the quality is so much better, and the post allows you to do so much more with it Babul Bhatt from Bombay, Indiawonderful and very very expressive... maybe converting into black and white using the channel mixer would add a punch to this excellent shot. 15 Mar 2008 10:17pm @Babul Bhatt: Thank you, I love your style and portfolio and I appreciate your opinion very much. I tried the B&W conversion but felt that something got lost there. I am very new to the whole photography process and particularly the post. I am not sure what the channel mixer is, I guess its photoshop. I will look into it ruben latre from Terrassa, SpainI can't believe this is a first step into photography !!! This shot is just amazing !! Lovely lighting & composition, really well done Nataly !! I don't know what are you gonna show us when you'll become an skilled professional !!! 22 Apr 2008 7:40pm @ruben latre: Thank you so much for your kind words. That shot like most of my good ones was a lucky catch. But as I am learning I hope I will be able to repeat and improve. @tinnaschram: Thank you, Tinna! You like my kid, ah? :-) Me too Hikari from Kumamoto, JapanFantastic shot! , one of your best in my opinion. 1 Aug 2008 2:23am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Stateswow -- just hauntingly beautiful! love the intense expression and the dark shadows and blue hues. brilliant! :) by the way thanks for the comment! 7 Aug 2008 3:07am Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaI love this wonderfully soft, sensitive and expressive portrait!
